As we journey to build wealth – long lasting, transgenerational, kingdom-focused wealth – it is important to settle the matter of who owns this wealth.
Here’s how the MSG version of the Scriptures renders Deuteronomy 8:18…
“If you start thinking to yourselves, “I did all this. And all by myself. I’m rich. It’s all mine!”—well, think again. Remember that God, your God, gave you the strength to produce all this wealth so as to confirm the covenant that he promised to your ancestors—as it is today.”
Deuteronomy 8:17-18 MSG
See, God promised Abraham that He will bless Abraham’s seed. You are that seed of Abraham.
So, God will do everything He has to do to bless you. His integrity is at stake here, remember?
The passage referenced above is a good anchor for us. It should remind us that God is the One Who:
1. Sends resources our way.
2. Owns these resources though they be in our possession.
Will you dare to trust God to bring you into opportunities to make money?
Will you decide to acknowledge God as your Source – both to yourself and to others?
